Magnets

Clay is home to two magnets:

  • French Dual Language Immersion - a curriculum in equal parts English and French, and will begin in the fall 2020. Twenty-five kindergarteners and 25 first grade students will be admitted to the program. Students will continue their language immersion as they progress from grade to grade.

  • International Baccalaureate - For grades K-8. This program encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. Using global contexts, students develop an understanding of their common humanity and shared view of the world through developmentally appropriate explorations.

Free or reduced meals and textbooks

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a free meal option for schools and school districts in low-income areas. CEP allows the nation’s highest poverty schools and districts to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without collecting household applications. However, since there is only one application for meals and textbooks, SBCSC will only be reimbursed for textbooks if you fill out the form. Be sure to check and digitally sign the textbook section. The form is here: https://family.titank12.com/. If you have any questions, call our office at 574-393-6059.

Payments for textbook fees can be taken over the phone with a credit or debit card by calling 574-393-6099. When Textbook Rental Invoices are mailed you can pay with a credit card by putting the card number on the provided space on the invoice or with a check or money order through the mail. You can also come in person to the fourth floor of the Administration Building to the Fees Cashier's office to pay with cash, check, money order, or credit/debit card.
